Educational Visits
At Walworth we provide many opportunities for children to access learning outside of the classroom as we believe that learning outdoors is an important part of every young person’s development.
We are fortunate to own two mini-buses and many staff are qualified through MIDAS training giving the school flexibility to offer outdoor learning to pupil’s on a regular basis.
Off-site learning encourages children to develop confidence, communication skills and raise self-esteem. Interaction with the environment gives opportunity to develop practical life skills and interact with nature. The outdoors offers learning opportunities which are different, additional and equal in status to those of an indoor classroom.
Many of our off-site visits are to local museums, parks ‘forest school’ and are within the school day.
Please see our Outdoor Visits Policy in the School Policies section of our website for further information.
