Parent Support Advisor

Suzanne Anderson

Walworth is a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) School which can offer Dads, Mums and Carers support from our Parent Support Adviser (PSA), Suzanne Anderson.

Suzanne has worked in the PSA role since 2009.

As well as being rewarding, parenting and caring for a child can be a demanding and frustrating job.

Suzanne is here to offer non judge-mental advice and support to Dads, Mums and Carers in any matters concerning your children’s education and development.

Parents and carers are the single most important factor in shaping their children’s wellbeing, achievements and prospects.

Suzanne is available to:

  • Provide help and advice about services that may be of benefit to you.
  • Help and support you and your child throughout your child's development and to help you all to get along!
  • Provide 1:1 parenting support.
  • Child on Parent Violence and Aggression support.
  • Encourage parental engagement in school life and learning.
  • Help with any concerns you may have at home or with your child at school.
  • Support you and your child during important changes in the school year.
  • Support with DLA applications.
  • Support with housing issues

Suzanne also works with our CAMHS worker and, together, put on Parents Lunch Clubs during the school term.

Watch out for flyers in school bags, notifications on POW’s Facebook site and posters around school!

Parents/carer’s can also apply for Carer’s allowance. Carer’s allowance is dependant on your income. Whether a parent gets Carer’s allowance or not they can register with Durham County Carer’s. They offer advise, discounts events and much more. See below:
